Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice — glassboyfactory.com

1. Who we are

This website, glassboyfactory.com, is operated by Qingdao Glassboy Manufacture Co., Ltd., Room 1910–1911, No. 2 Business Building, Qingjian Sun Island, No. 52 Harbin Road, Qingdao, China 266034. You can reach us at mike@glassboy.cn (see section 7).

2. What we collect

This section describes the features the site has today.

a) Server logs. The site is served by a web server (nginx). Web servers typically record technical data such as IP address, browser type, requested pages and timestamps. We keep these logs for about 14 days.

b) Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Where analytics is allowed (see section 3), we use GA4 to understand how the site is used. GA4 sets cookies such as _ga. Google signals and ad personalization signals are turned off in our GA4 setup. Google Analytics keeps user-level and event-level data only for a limited period (2 or 14 months, depending on the retention setting of our Google Analytics account; a standard Google Analytics property cannot keep it longer). Aggregated reports are not affected by this setting.

c) Microsoft Clarity. Where analytics is allowed (see section 3), we use Microsoft Clarity, a page-behaviour analytics tool from Microsoft. It records how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and can show this as heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity sets the cookies _clck and _clsk. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, Clarity is not loaded until you press Accept. Microsoft processes and keeps Clarity data under its own Clarity retention rules (see Microsoft's privacy statement).

d) Inquiry form and business contact. The "Your next collection" form asks for your name, work email, company, destination market and requirements. When you submit the form, we store these details on our server and send a notification to our sales mailbox, so that we can reply to your inquiry and keep in touch about it. If you contact us by email, WhatsApp or WeChat instead, we receive and store what you send. Inquiry and contact data are kept for 24 months by default (see section 6).

e) Email, WhatsApp and WeChat. If you contact us by email, WhatsApp or WeChat, we receive what you send. WhatsApp and WeChat messages are also handled by those services under their own terms.

f) AI assistant. The site has a "Glassboy assistant" (AI product guide) in English, German and Spanish. It is embedded from a chat service at kb.ai666.uk (MaxKB). The chat window shows a notice first and loads only after you press "Start chat", not when the page opens. The messages you type are sent to that service so it can answer. The site states that order details need confirmation from the team. - Storage: when you use the chat, the conversation (your messages and the assistant's replies), its time, your IP address and any rating you give are stored on our chat server (kb.ai666.uk, built on MaxKB, which we operate). The chat does not ask for your name or email and does not need a login. Our team can read stored conversations. - Retention: chat conversation logs are kept for up to 180 days. - AI provider: to write a reply, the text you type, together with relevant passages from our knowledge base, is sent to the DeepSeek API (DeepSeek, model deepseek-v4-flash) for processing. Your chat text may therefore be processed outside your own country. DeepSeek is a service provider outside the EU and the UK, and processing may take place in China or other countries. DeepSeek's own terms and privacy policy apply to its processing. Searching our knowledge base runs on our own server. - Please do not enter sensitive personal information in the chat.

g) Language selection. The site offers English (default), German and Spanish. Your language choice is kept in your browser's local storage (glassboy-language) and in the page address (?lang=).

h) Search engine notifications (IndexNow). When we publish or update a page, we may tell participating search engines (for example Bing) about the page's public URL through the IndexNow service. The notification contains only the website name, a public key and page URLs. It does not contain visitor data or personal data. The site hosts the public key file so search engines can check the notification.

3. Cookies and consent

Analytics is optional. The site works without it. We use two analytics tools, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, and both follow the choices described here.

How the defaults work

Google Consent Mode v2. On every page load, Google's consent signals analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization start as "denied". analytics_storage is changed to "granted" only when analytics is allowed (by your choice, or by default outside the regions above). The three advertising signals always stay "denied": we do not use advertising features, and Google signals and ad personalization are switched off in our GA4 setup. The Google tag itself is only loaded when analytics is allowed.

Microsoft Clarity consent. We pass your choice to Clarity through Clarity's consent API (consentv2). Advertising storage is always sent as "denied", and analytics storage follows your choice. The Clarity script is only loaded when analytics is allowed.

Name Type Set by Purpose Duration
_ga Cookie Google Analytics 4 Tells visitors apart for analytics 2 years by default (browsers may shorten this; Chrome caps it at about 400 days)
_ga_<container ID> Cookie Google Analytics 4 Keeps session state for analytics 2 years by default (browsers may shorten this; Chrome caps it at about 400 days)
_clck Cookie Microsoft Clarity Keeps the Clarity user ID and preferences 1 year
_clsk Cookie Microsoft Clarity Links page views into one Clarity session 1 day
xg_consent, xg_consent_t Local storage glassboyfactory.com Remembers your cookie choice and when you made it About 12 months
glassboy-language Local storage glassboyfactory.com Remembers your language choice Until you clear your browser storage

Cookie durations are the defaults documented by Google and Microsoft: _ga and _ga_<container ID> 2 years (browsers may cap this), _clck 1 year, _clsk 1 day. When analytics is allowed, Clarity may also set cookies on Microsoft domains (clarity.ms, bing.com): CLID, MUID, ANONCHK, MR, SM and SRM_B, which Microsoft documents as lasting from the session up to about 13 months, and it keeps a session-storage entry _cltk until you close the tab.

When you press "Start chat", the chat window loads from kb.ai666.uk, which stores the following in your browser to make the chat work: a cookie named mk_file_auth (up to 7 days), local-storage entries (<app>-accessToken, <app>-locale, MaxKB-locale; kept until you clear your browser data) and a session-storage entry (<app>-accessToken; until you close the tab). These items are used only to run the chat.

In our check of this site on 26 October 2026 (home page, without using the chat), no cookies were set before you chose Accept and none were set after you chose Reject, apart from the cookie-choice entries xg_consent and xg_consent_t in local storage. After Accept, only the Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity items listed above were set.
